Capacity, Timing — and Now, Intent: Kaleidoscope Partners with DAFinitive®
Kaleidoscope has partnered with DAFinitive®, the searchable donor advised fund database from The Helen Brown Group — adding a confirmed signal of intent to Insider Focus's capacity and timing intelligence. Unveiled at Apra PD26.
Capacity, Timing — and Now, Intent
We’re bringing donor advised fund intelligence to the advancement community — and completing the prospect picture. Kaleidoscope has partnered with DAFinitive®.
Great prospect research comes down to three questions: Who has the capacity to give? When is the right moment to ask? And how do you know they truly intend to give at all?
Insider Focus has always been strong on the first two. Today, we’re excited to announce a partnership that sharpens the third. We’ve partnered with DAFinitive®, the searchable donor advised fund database from The Helen Brown Group.
Who they are
Meet DAFinitive®
DAFinitive® is the only searchable database built to help you find information about donor advised funds. Its team has collected DAF information from more than 800 sponsors across the United States — with some international coverage too — and new funds are added every week. You can search by fund name, donor and advisor names, sponsoring organization, year founded, state or country, interest areas, giving, and keywords.
Here’s why that matters. When you discover a prospect has a donor advised fund, you learn something powerful: they’re philanthropic, they’ve set money aside to give, and they have an easy, ready way to make gifts. That’s intent — a signal that’s hard to find and impossible to fake.
Picture spotting a high-capacity prospect at just the right moment — from Insider Focus — then confirming they already have a donor advised fund set up to give, from DAFinitive®.
That’s not a cold lead. That’s a conversation waiting to happen.How to get DAFinitive®
If you’re already an Insider Focus user, adding DAFinitive® is simple — reach out to your Kaleidoscope team and we’ll help you get set up. New to both? We’d love to show you what capacity, timing, and intent look like when they come together.
What began as an internal resource for The Helen Brown Group’s prospect research team revealed a broader need across the nonprofit sector: a curated, searchable source of donor advised fund information. As DAFs play an increasingly important role in philanthropy, DAFinitive® gives prospect development professionals a clearer view of this complex landscape. Partnering with Kaleidoscope makes it easier for researchers to connect our complementary datasets, helping them strengthen strategy, deepen donor understanding, and connect capacity and generosity with mission.
Our partnership with DAFinitive® grew naturally out of a small project to showcase Kaleidoscope’s extraction technology for identifying and collecting information on high-net-worth donor advised fund holders. Over the past few months, we’ve seen surging interest from prospect research professionals who need deeper insight into donors with clear capacity and affinity for giving. DAFs are a relatively new philanthropic vehicle, and the relevant data has been difficult to assemble in one place. Expanding the partnership was a natural next step — enabling real-time updates on authenticated philanthropic gifts, richer data collection, and seamless integration between our platforms. This opens a previously uncharted path for donor research. We’re thrilled to support DAFinitive’s mission alongside Kaleidoscope’s own: bringing clarity out of complexity.
