FED Welcomes Proposal for Publication of USD-LIBOR Settings to Cease

The Federal Reserve Bank, in conjunction with regulators in the US, UK and ICE Benchmark Administrators for LIBOR, today welcomed a proposal that sets a clear, firm “end date” for the publication of one week and two month USD LIBOR settings after December 31, 2021. In addition, the plan includes a path for banks to stop entering into new USD-LIBOR-based contracts by end of 2021.
